Patty Ross
Patty Ross
Arguably The Strand's favorite comedian, Patty Ross has been busy since her last appearance, and because of that, Strand audiences may see more of her in 2012. First comes her live standup appearance on Feb. 11, and she's also in two films scheduled to debut in 2012: The Farrelly Brothers Three Stooges remake, and Adam Sandler's I Hate You, Dad. In 2011, she was featured in the independent film The Restaurant, adding to her list of big- and small-screen credits. Called "a female Jackie Gleason," her unique persona and larger-than-life stage presence have made her one of the most sought-after personalities on the national comedy scene. Her repertoire is so diverse that her experience ranges from opening for Andrew Dice Clay in 10,000-seat venues to receiving a standing ovation from a convention of Montessori Nuns. The American Comedy Awards nominated Ross for Best Female Guest-Star in a Sitcom for one of her appearances on Roseanne. She was also the featured female performer at the Gala of the 1997 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada. Among a slew of TV appearances (including a few of her own pilots), she's appeared in Damon Wayans' My Wife and Kids, Two Guys and a Girl, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In recent years, she's developed and produced her own one-woman show, called Patty Ross: Walk a Mile in my Brassiere.
  Robbie Printz
Robbie Printz
Former Boston Comedy Festival winner Robbie Printz has performed at the best comedy clubs across the nation, as well as numerous colleges and corporate events. His delightful, fantastically funny act has propelled him to appearances on Comedy Central, NBC, MTV, and A&E, and prompted the magazine Improper Bostonian to name him Boston's Best Comedy Act in 2003. He plays clubs and theaters in New England. His performance is a reminder of childhood wonders and adulthood absurdities; delivered with high energy and a fast pace that keeps audiences laughing from start to finish.
  Sal Votano
Sal Votano
Sal Votano is one of Boston's rising comedy stars, opening at nightclubs and private shows for such top comedians as Nick DiPaolo, Steve Sweeney, and Lenny Clarke. He was a semi finalist in both the 2009 Giggles Comedy Riots competition and the 2010 Plymouth Comedy Festival. His one-liners about growing up in Lynn, marriage, being a builder and owning a liquor store have been crowd-pleasing hits around New England.
